With flexible terms and excellent value for extended rentals, our cottages provide a stress-free, ready-to-live solution for your longer stay.
Our longer-let packages are designed to make your stay effortless, with electricity, water, Wi-Fi and private parking all included, along with fresh towels, quality bedding, and both UK and French Freesat TV. The cottages are fully heated for comfortable winter stays, and we’re happy to welcome well-behaved dogs by prior agreement. The only additional cost is for firewood, which we provide at cost price—everything else is taken care of, so you can simply settle in and enjoy your time.

We stayed in Chez Aristide for the whole month of October 2025.
What a lovely spot! Beautiful countryside views and such a comfortable and homely gite. Super comfortable, massive bed, really well equipped kitchen, delightful outdoor area and cosy wood burner when the evenings got chilly.
Stephanie and Charlie were marvellous, friendly hosts, checking all the time that we had everything we needed and giving us brilliant tips for place to visit and things to do. We had our family with us for the last week and they couldn't have been more helpful. Stair gate, booster seat and fireguard appeared by magic. The children adored the trampoline, swings and the dressing up box in the Pressoir. Stephanie helped us to organise wonderful trips out too. Cognac making tour, horse riding, chocolate making workshop; all were fab.
Overall a wonderful, relaxing month in the beautiful Charentais countryside, with lots to see and do when we wanted to.
A great, big thank you to you both for a truly perfect stay.

Review from January - February 2025
Perfect long term winter let.
Whilst looking in the Charente region for our new home we chose to stay at The Courtyard, Ste Catherine for 2 months - January and February 2025.
The gite is very well appointed and should you want anything else (ie slow cooker) it was promptly supplied with no fuss whatsoever.
The main bedroom is large with an extremely comfortable bed (excellent bed linen) and has amazing views across the vineyards. The lounge / kitchen / diner was also comfortable with a lovely and (by us) well-used large wood-burner which heated the gite nicely.
The location is quiet, peaceful and well situated for many significant points of interest… Cognac, La Charente river, Angouleme, Mansle and Rouillac itself with its large monthly market.
Steph and Charlie could not have been better hosts, on hand when needed, very friendly and helpful but discreet with our privacy. However, when we NEEDED them they were amazing with their support and help, given with no drama or expectation but out of simple decency. Absolutely lovely people and the perfect hosts!
It is clear that in the summer months many families have had amazing times at The Courtyard and despite our stay being over winter, the excellent facilities available are obvious.
The Courtyard is very dog friendly and our Border Collie of ‘senior years’ very much enjoyed the company of Steph and Charlie’s pup.
We were unable to find our future home, but as such, we will be returning to The Courtyard to stay again whilst we continue our search. Think that says it all. A wonderful place to stay.
